And the winner is…
I cannot begin to tell you how excited we were to capture the Reeve’s family portraits this year! They were the winners of the holiday portrait session we donated to the NF (neurofibromatosis) Walk we participated this past October. They also happened to be volunteers at the NF Walk. They volunteered in honor of their family friends the Gonzalez family also known as Team G-Force, who battle NF. The Reeve family met when Ross Gonzalez became their oldest son, Dominic’s baseball coach, and they quickly became family friends. Not only are the Reeve family such a joy to photograph, they are also part of our military community; Art Reeve is a Military Training Instructor. For those of you who don’t know, Sam retired from the Airforce 5 years ago and of course military tradition is part of our family and we support our military in any way we can.
This year we are honored to be able to participate in Wreaths Across America, laying wreaths on veteran gravestones. Sam and I have previously volunteered at the USO but with having a little one, that prevented us from volunteering as much as we would like. Now that our son is old enough to understand the concept of volunteering and community service, we are happy to take him along with us and teach him about volunteering and community service.
You can imagine my excitement when Shannon Reeve contacted us and told us that she was excited since they hadn’t had family portraits done since their youngest was 8 months old (he is now 8 years old). Family portraits are very important to us and we couldn’t think of a more deserving family. Since Shannon told us she also homeschools their children, it was extra important to get those individual portraits of the boys since they don’t do the normal school portraits that are usually done during the school year. We had so much fun with her boys and it was so sweet to see how much love this mama receives from all her boys! Since I am the only girl in the house, I can totally relate. Thank you to the Mighty Muller Girls and NF Walk Organizer, Kerry Muller for introducing us to this sweet family and for making all the efforts and support to finding a cure for NF. We hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season so far and that the next two weeks are filled with love and joy!!!
