Can you believe Thanksgiving is in 6 days? How did that just creep up on us? We are so excited to finally be able to share an entire Grow with Me Session from Belly to 1 year! I cannot begin to tell you how honored we were this past year to get to know and capture this family’s special memories. From Dani’s stunning maternity session to baby Noah’s one year cakesmash, with every new milestone, it was such a pleasure to watch this little one grow.

There is something so miraculous about preganacy. Our bodies actually creating another life. Maternity portraits are some of my very favorite sessions to photograph. We love capturing this special moment in expectant parents lives, and the excitement, anticipation, and pure love that shows in their eyes. And who can resist the adorable pregnancy baby bump?!? Somedays you feel like the day that your baby will arrive is never going to get here but then, before you know it, your pregnancy is over and you are holding your new sweet tiny baby.

You do not know how happy we are to finally be able to share this wonderful news. A beautiful Rainbow Baby was born and we cannot wait to meet him! This month month marks my 1 year anniversary as a volunteer photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS). I know I say it a lot but volunteering with this organization has changed my life so much. Last year I told you about the very first family that I had the honor of serving as a NILMDTS volunteer and how despite the heartbreaking loss of their daughter Malia, they remained the sweetest, most humble family I have ever met. This remains true today.

Marie’s Ice Cream Shop Baby Shower | Olvera Photography, San Antonio, TX.

I cannot believe I’m going to be an aunt again! A few months ago out of the blue my sister called and said she was going to Austin for the day, she asked if we would meet her there, of course we did since its so close but why was she driving almost 4 hours from Rockwall, TX. just to visit Austin? I didn’t even question it at the time since I was just excited to see her, it had been 2 months since I had seen her and that was already long enough. So we head out to Zilker Park and then to dinner, when we all sat down to order drinks I wondered why she ordered water but then again I was so happy to see her and her family that I didn’t think about it again. When we got our drinks she said she wanted to tell us something- I thought she was going to say she was moving then they sprung it on us… She was pregnant!!!! I was so happy I instantly started crying! After years of trying, it finally happened!!

San Antonio, TX-Olvera Photography Year in Review

What a year! It seems like yesterday that I was afraid of the camera and now it’s regular staple in my diaper bag; so much that Sam bought me a new camera bag for Christmas so that I don’t have to shove it in the diaper bag anymore.
