We couldn’t wait any longer, we have been wanting to post this sweet girls quinceañera portraits for months now! We were so glad she opted to do a portrait session before her big day because not only was her big day absolutely crazy busy but her portraits were stunning! On the day of her quinceañera, things moved fast and she got a few birthday present surprises that prevented us from doing formal portraits with her alone and with her full court- but no big deal she already had these beautiful portraits so there was no need to stress, plus it was so much fun! Bella and her family celebrated her First Holy Communion this past weekend and we are so excited to share photos from her portrait session. St. Matthew Catholic Church is a beautiful church. So much planning goes into a First Communion and we were glad to help preserve these memories for her and her family. I recently had a conversation with a friend on why it is so important to hire a professional photographer for these type of portraits. I’m sure there are many different reasons to hire a professional for special occasions like this, but there are 2 very important reasons that I explain to parents who inquire with us.

Beautiful Baby Baptism at the San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio,TX.

I cannot begin to tell you how absolutely stunning the San Fernando Cathedral in downtown San Antonio is.  There’s just something so serene about it, it looks huge from the outside but when you walk in its actually smaller than one would think.  It’s quite intimate and just an absolutely perfect place to have a baby’s baptism.  If you have never visited this beautiful landmark, it’s definitely a must.  We were so honored to be asked to capture on of the most important milestone in baby Michae’s life.  How adorable is this little guy?  Look at those little cheeks of his! He was all smiles the entire time and was just loving the camera.  We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect morning to capture his baptism.

Mount Schoenstatt First Holy Communion|Juan Pablo

Helotes First Holy Communion- MOUNT SCHOENSTATT 1

Schoenstatt is a German word meaning “beautiful place” and that is exactly what Mount Schoenstatt is.  This hidden little gem is one of the cutest little chapels I have ever seen.  Located in Helotes, TX. this charming property is very intimate and the private mass was just beautiful.  Although I had never met Sandra before, we had talked so much on the phone that when we got to the session, I felt like we were friends.  Usually we like to meet with our clients to do a pre-consult to make sure we get a good understanding of what they envision for their sessions, but because we were on vacation at the time Sandra called and the fact that her and her family live in Mexico, we consulted via phone.  She was so sweet and she explained that photos of her son celebrating his First Holy Communion were of the utmost importance to her.

Holy Spirit Catholic Church First Communion|San Antonio, TX.

I have been trying to come up with the perfect words to describe this session and to tell you the truth this one was difficult for me.  That’s because it is difficult to describe all the love that I witnessed that day in mere words.  It was a privilege to have been able to be a part of such a momentous occasion for sweet Olivia and her family.  This occasion was even more meaningful because the same Pastor that married Olivia’s parents (who were high school sweethearts) also baptized Olivia; and now was going to preside over her First Holy Communion.  It was  like a storybook waiting to happen.
