Q. How soon should I schedule my session?
I usually book at least 6-8 weeks out and if you need a weekend appointment it is especially important to book early, as my weekend availability is limited and these spots go fast.

Q. When should I schedule my session for?
For maternity clients, the best time to schedule your session is around 30-34 weeks to allow for a good sized belly but before you get really uncomfortable. For newborn clients, the ideal time is to schedule a session 5-10 days after your due date or scheduled C-section. If you deliver late or early, we will move your appointment time if necessary. For all other ages, there isn’t a specific ‘date’ and it just depends on your goals and schedule.

Q. Studio or location?
We are happy to accommodate your vision of your session by traveling to a location or having the session in our home studio. Studio is about classic simplicity. The lighting is beautiful and there are no weather concerns. Location shoots bring other wonderful elements into the shoots. Interesting landscapes and natural light are just two reasons to choose an on location shoot. Please be advised that some locations require permit fees, which will be the responsibility of the client.

Q. How long does my session last?
Most sessions are usually 1.5-2 hours. For Newborn sessions please allow for 3-4 hours.

Q. What is the ordering process like?
During your portrait session, we will schedule a time for you to come back to our home studio and view your proofs (This is typically about a two weeks later). We usually proof 20-40 images from a session. While you are not required to place your order at this time, you will receive a discount for your order that is placed during this session. We truly value the investment our clients make and want it to be an informed, and not rushed one. During your proofing appointment, you will see a slideshow of your images. We will then go though suggestions for wall portraits, collages and collections of all the beautiful heirloom products that are available for you. We will also provide you with a password-protected online ordering gallery that will be available for 2 weeks. We are always available to visit your home to design a perfect wall display.

Q. Do you sell digital, high resolution images? Do you sell a CD of all the images from a session?
We provide digital copies of images when a package is purchased. Images are sized to easily share with family and friends on social networking sites or via email. Images are not intended for print. We certainly understand the interest in having an archival disc of all the images. Our desire is that our clients take advantage of our expertise to create tangible wall art and heirloom albums that can be passed down to future generations rather than receiving a disc of images that inevitably sits in a to-do pile for months or even years (trust us, we are guilty of that as well!). If you would like full resolution images, they can be purchased as an add-on.

Q. How long do you save our image files? 

Your viewing gallery will remain online for ordering for 2 weeks. If your gallery has expired it can be reactivated for an additional 7 days for a fee of $50 to allow time for you to place your order. After you have placed your order, your ordered images will be archived for 6 months following your session date, however unordered images may be purged after 45 days from the original posting of your proofs.

Q. Do you offer a “Baby’s First Year” package?
Yes!  Most clients do the following: Newborn session within 10 days of birth, 4 months, 8 months, and then one at 1 year to get the full representation of your baby’s first year. Please inquire for prices.
