Is Mother’s Day really only 13 days away?? Why do I feel like time is passing by so fast? I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that my son is growing so fast- I am desperately trying to breathe in every single moment with him. It seems like everyday he teaches me something new. We went from counting to 10 on Monday to being able to count to 15 (in English and Spanish) by Sunday afternoon!
Some of my very favorite photos (and photos to take) are of mother and child and even better when its grandmother and child- you can read about that in our recent Mommy and Me post.
You can imagine my excitement when Katie mentioned how close Kendall was with her grandmother. I told Katie how much it means to me to capture generational photos and even though we were mainly focusing on Kendall who recently had a birthday, ‘how much fun would it be to include grandma?’
Grandmothers hold very special place in both Sam and I’s heart. I have 2 amazing grandmothers who mean the world to me, one who is an Angel up in heaven and another who is pretty much one of Noah’s best friends. We are blessed to have her visit us often, despite her living 5 hours away. Every time she visits, you never see me without my camera- I am always snapping photos of Noah and his great-grandmother/bff. Sam’s great grandmother was part of his daily life as he was growing up and she means so much to him, you can read more about her in our Grow With Me Blog post. So the day we planned came and I was so excited to shoot- the afternoon was absolutely perfect! The weather was so nice and warm with a slight breeze and the sun was gorgeous! Then Katie shows up with Kendall as expected and with… Kathryn (Kendall’s grandmother)! Yay! The more the merrier!
It was so nice to be able to capture 3 generations of women in such beautiful light having so much fun just loving on each other. Kendall had so much fun being the center of attention between 4 adults! She was a natural little model. She came up with most of her poses on her own. She owned that park and the camera. Time just went by so fast and the blood orange sunset that was handed to us that afternoon couldn’t have been any better! I know Kendall is too young to really understand what these photos will mean to her in the future, but I like to think that when Kendall gets married, maybe one of these photos can be recreated. My hope is that these photos will be cherished and bring back beautiful memories in the years to come!
I was so emotional watching the slideshow we prepared for them and -seriously (y’all know I’m a crybaby) I was a little teary. I can’t wait until my mom and grandmother visit again because I have so many photo ideas that I that I want to take of with them and Noah! With Mother’s Day less than two weeks away, its still not too late to book a Mommy and Me session- and bring grandma! Not enough time? Give that special mom the gift of memories- we also offer gift certificates! We strive to to bring you and your loved ones a memorable and fun experience that results in memories to treasure forever!
