San Antonio Bluebonnets – Tips on how to take beautiful pictures safely

Last year I had so much fun road tripping and scouting out locations for those perfect bluebonnet photos for our clients.I love seeing all those bluebonnet photos that have popped up on our Instagram and Facebook feed already. Last year I wrote a blog on the mistakes I had made in 2015, which you can find here. This year I hope I can add some more tips for you, especially since last year I made the biggest mistake, a mistake I hope no one else makes this year! When to book your maternity and newborn portraits

Tips on when to book your Maternity and Newborn Session

So you’re expecting…Congratulations!!! Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful things in the world.  We are so incredibly happy for you! So many things running through your mind as you embark on this wonderful journey. Everything from how to books to DIY projects for your dream nursery.  One thing I have noticed is that we get caught up in so many things at once that we actually wait too long to talk about maternity and newborn portraits.  That was me- I remember when I was expecting, I had a Pinterest board of maternity and baby photos I wanted and I just kept pinning away and by the time I was at my baby shower I realized that I was 36 weeks and totally uncomfortable- no way was I going to let a stranger take my picture when I felt so crappy. Don’t even get me started on the newborn photos I thought I could totally do myself.  Needless to say, I missed out on both of those and regret it all the time- especially after we decided we were not having any more children. Recently we have been getting several inquiries for maternity and newborn sessions right at the end of the pregnancy or days after the baby has been born and since we book out about 1-2 months ahead of time, I was sad that we were not able to help some of these sweet mamas due to our full schedule.  So I decided I could try and give expectant moms a few tips to consider when thinking of maternity and newborn portraits.  I hope some of these help you as these are some of the things we go over during our consultations.
