Bella and her family celebrated her First Holy Communion this past weekend and we are so excited to share photos from her portrait session. St. Matthew Catholic Church is a beautiful church. So much planning goes into a First Communion and we were glad to help preserve these memories for her and her family. I recently had a conversation with a friend on why it is so important to hire a professional photographer for these type of portraits. I’m sure there are many different reasons to hire a professional for special occasions like this, but there are 2 very important reasons that I explain to parents who inquire with us.
Schoenstatt is a German word meaning “beautiful place” and that is exactly what Mount Schoenstatt is. This hidden little gem is one of the cutest little chapels I have ever seen. Located in Helotes, TX. this charming property is very intimate and the private mass was just beautiful. Although I had never met Sandra before, we had talked so much on the phone that when we got to the session, I felt like we were friends. Usually we like to meet with our clients to do a pre-consult to make sure we get a good understanding of what they envision for their sessions, but because we were on vacation at the time Sandra called and the fact that her and her family live in Mexico, we consulted via phone. She was so sweet and she explained that photos of her son celebrating his First Holy Communion were of the utmost importance to her.
I recently had the pleasure of capturing Paxton’s First Holy Communion at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (SEAS) Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX. This session meant so much to me, not only because Paxton’s mom is one of my very good friends, but because Paxton’s dad was working out of town and was unable to attend. I really wanted to be able to capture as much as I could so that his dad could feel like he did not miss a thing. I know how much this means to his parents and how proud of him they are.
