You know you have a good friend when you can go long periods of time without talking or seeing each other but when you do, you can pick up right where you left off. I have known Delilah for over 8 years now and although life can get busy (especially with new jobs, puppies, and in my case -baby) we may sometimes go a few months without talking but when we do reconnect it’s like we spoke yesterday. Some of you might recognize Freddie from my son’s birthday party this past October as Superman- oh no? Let me tell you how sweet this guy is-
I know Delilah told me that he hates for people to brag about him, but seriously, he made my 3-year-olds dream come true. For months my all my son said he wanted for his birthday was for Superman to come and a Superman cake. How hard could that be right? Well if your son’s birthday happens to fall on the same weekend as Comic-Con, it’s actually very hard! For weeks I looked for a Superman for his party and couldn’t find one available. It wasn’t until 2 days before the party that I happened to call Delilah because I heard a song on the radio that reminded me of her. We got to talking and catching up when I told her about my Superman dilemma. Later that afternoon, she texted me that Freddie would do it- I said “No way I couldn’t ask him”, plus he has a beard. Well guys, not only did he come through, but he shaved his beard for my son. I seriously was holding back tears the entire day and even the next just thinking of the smile on my son’s face and how happy he was that Superman came to his party. He even started sleeping in his own bed (I might have had Superman mention something about that to him). That just goes to show you how sweet of friends we have. Delilah and Freddie are such a sweet down to earth couple and Sam and I were so happy to be able to capture photos of their annual Christmas tree picking holiday tradition (5 years now) and they even brought their cute little fur babies along!
We had so much fun at Pipe Creek Christmas Tree Farm. The owner Jim and his son were nice enough to let us photograph on their beautiful property. Although it was a cloudy day we were happy when the sun peeked its head through the clouds just in time for a beautiful sunset. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect afternoon. Their pups Bull and Lilly had fun too, aren’t they adorable?! I have been wanting to shoot a couple at a Christmas Tree Farm forever and I’m so happy that Delilah and Freddie were willing to make the little drive up to Pipe Creek because their photos are absolutely gorgeous!
