A South Texas Bride in a blanket of snow in Colorado!

 

Laurissa and Eric are finally married! Their winter wedding in Boulder, Co. was one I’ll never forget.  Being from San Antonio, TX. I don’t think there is a way to forget 4 degree snowy weather anyway.  Although the snow way coming down hard that day, it gave us the most beautiful glistening glittery snow backdrop anyone could ever ask for.  I cannot begin to tell you how honored we were to be asked to be part of Laurissa and Eric’s wedding day.  Who would have thought 10 years ago the girl I sat behind in Forensic Science class at UTSA (The University of Texas at San Antonio) would ask me to be part of the most important day of her life! We have been through so much together, from freaking out over Bio Chemistry exams to working at the morgue to college graduation and from Air Force testing to big moves across the U.S. – and throughout all those years whenever we see each other no matter how long its been, we just pick up right where we left off. She’s an amazing friend we couldn’t be happier for her and Eric.

I remember the first time we met Eric, I told Sam- he must really love Laurissa to come with her to her friends house to see a new baby (our son Noah was just about a month old).  I would have thought that being in a new-ish relationship bringing a baby around might freak out a guy but not Eric, he was so sweet and the way he looked at our son and Laurissa as she held him for the first time almost made me cry— I said almost–I wasn’t trying to scare the guy away- lol! But seriously, I knew right then that she had found the one.  We traveled to Boulder, Colorado last April to shoot Laurissa and Eric’s engagement session and we instantly fell in love with Colorado! We had so much fun with Eric and Laurissa and all their jokes and laughter.  We couldn’t wait to go back in January to shoot their wedding! The Lionsgate Event Center was gorgeous and Ashley, who was the coordinator was the sweetest girl ever! Eric and Laurissa had their ceremony in the Chandelier Barn, which was lined with 23 absolutely gorgeous chandeliers from all over the world.  It was the most romantic setting anyone could ever ask for.  As Laurissa came down a beautiful staircase the room was silenced by her beauty (and by Elle Goulding’s How Long will I Love You). She was stunning! That moment was the most emotional of the day by far! I could go on to say more mushy stuff but- if you know Laurissa and Eric- the mushy stuff stopped there and the party was about to begin.  So many laughs during the ceremony with their little jokes that only their loved ones understood and a little “Go Spurs Go“, but my favorite was when Eric closed his vows with “as long as I live- or until your co-workers pick us up” Everyone was laughing so hard! Laurissa in an investigator for the Boulder County Coroner so of course Eric threw in a little morgue humor. And who could forget that awesome little fist bump/high five they gave each other after the ceremony? They are the cutest!Extra Kudos to all her friends and family who didn’t hesitate not once for photo ops in the snow! Even my camera froze a few times! 

Now it was time to party- we had so much fun watching their choreographed dance (that her dad pretty much led) to Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Fight the Feeling.  Both Laurissa and Eric’s families are the sweetest people you will meet.  Although I have known Laurissa’s parents for years, this was my first time meeting Eric’s family. They treated us as if we were part of their own family and I couldn’t believe how much they all loved on Laurissa and Eric so much! Both Laurissa and Eric have gained amazing families- I don’t know how many times I cried tears of happiness for them throughout the day-lol! They are very lucky to have such amazing families and friends who came from all over to celebrate with them. Laurissa and Eric, thank you for letting me be part of one of the most important days of your lives, thank you for being so easy-going and so much fun.  We love you both so very much and wish you a lifetime of happiness!!
